Our public health experts work collaboratively with government agencies, donors, and civil society partners to design and implement innovative programs that address current and emerging needs facing vulnerable individuals and families in targeted communities.
Our current main areas of work include implementing HIV combination prevention interventions, COVID-19 pandemic mitigation measures, quality improvement technical support for clinical and non-clinical programs, and supporting the strengthening of interventions targeting vulnerable children.
Information Technology Solutions
Our team’s expertise is varied and extensive in areas such as the design and utilization of digital technology to conduct targeted surveys and to gather routine service data through customized mobile applications (apps) that facilitate real-time data collection, analysis, and data visualization
Sam has partnered with, and supported, the work of a number of government agencies and international humanitarian organizations to develop IT solutions for various projects, including recent and/or ongoing work with UNICEF, GIZ, AVAC, URC, the South African Departments of Social Development and of Health
Our premier IT innovation – the Real-Time Monitoring Tool (RTMT) which was launched in 2020 by The Director-General for the South African National Department of Social Development is a great example of the cutting-edge products SAM produces. The RTMT has generated great interest in the value of real-time data and is set to transform how government departments and NPO partners gather and use data to respond to the needs of vulnerable children across South Africa
Monitoring & Evaluation
With over 100 years of combined professional work experience in the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems for various development programs, SAM’s team of experts offers significant value and leverage in advising and supporting the development of relevant systems in line with the requirements of each client
The combination of community implementation and evaluation expertise that we bring to every assignment makes our team unique because we can leverage lessons learned from multiple programs in designing and executing monitoring and evaluation systems, and in supporting our clients to develop improvement plans for their programs.
M&E services include technical support to design systems, the development of Theories of Change, and the formulation of strategic information and performance monitoring plans; data collection and capturing support; data quality audits; baseline, mid-term, end-line, and impact evaluations; data visualization and utilization support.

Leveraging SAM’s highly skilled multi-disciplinary team, we offer a wide range of consulting and capacity-building support services. Our expertise covers a wide range of fields including public health, data analytics, program monitoring and evaluation, organization development, program improvement science, the design and development of information technology systems data quality management, and more.
SAM has built strong partnerships with major universities through which it has access to extensive resources in the form of experts in various fields as well as masters and Ph.D. students across all South African provinces.
