SAM is a Sub-Recipient of the Global Fund under Aids Foundation SA (AFSA), implementing a prevention program for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in uMlathuze sub-district of King Cetshwayo District in Kwa Zulu Natal province.
SAM is a co-implementer of the program along with four Sub-sub-Recipients namely EDI, Lungelo, Isibani, and Phumlela. The principal objective of the program is to reach 35,000 young women (15 to 24 years) with HIV combination prevention services including HIV, TB & STI prevention education and HIV testing services with linkages to treatment and care. The program targets both in and out of school youth and provides services through working with several clinics and public schools as well as through mobile clinics and safe spaces established in various locations within the uMhlathuze local municipality.
